Wow, I cannot believe another year has come and gone. I could say that i did not accomplish everything that i wanted to this year but I have certainly had a fantastic time trying to reach my goals…though it is still slightly out of reach. Perseverance!!!! I have certainly learned a great deal in the pursuit of my dream and I really believe I have what it takes to get there.
Besides that I saw even more of Costa Rica and Nicaragua this year. And it was awesome! I also got the chance to spend a few days in New York and I am definitely putting it on my list of places I need to spend more time. And there was also California…I miss California.
Soooooo all in all it was an amazing year if i do say so and I DO say so.
And next Year! India. And finally, hopefully, getting my dream Job.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

My best friend Mr. Bobby Magee passed on suddenly this morning with no warning. Over 13 years he has been a dear friend and the best cat ever. I will miss him more than words can Possibly say. Thank you Bobby. I love you bunches. xoxo.
Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want. Joseph wood Crutch
Dogs teach you how to love. Cats teach you how to live. Merrit Malloy.
To gain the friendship of a cat is a difficult thing. The cat is a philosophical, methodical, quiet animal, tenacious of its own habits, fond of order and cleanliness, and it does not lightly confer its friendship. If you are worthy of its affection, a cat will be your friend, but never your slave. He keeps his free will, though he loves, and he will not do for you what he thinks is unreasonable. But if he once gives himself to you it is with absolute confidence and affection. Theophile Gautier (1850) — Molly McDonald
Yup. Still my favorite Romantic Comedy ever. Smart, Funny, Sweet, what more can you ask.
“I love that you get cold when it’s 71 degrees out!”
I should change the title of my blog “ode to a great boyfriend” I haven’t written for quite sometime and the last post was about my amazing boyfriend. And again he has done it. For my birthday he surprised me with the chance to go to Santa Barbara, Cal. for a weekend and visit the wine country. 2 months later and finally we managed to fit the weekend into our insane schedules.
The wait was well worth it!!! We flew into LAX on Southwest Airlines (yay! Southwest Airlines). And from there he had rented a car. We drove up the coast and spent a fantastic afternoon and evening visiting Santa Barbara. We wandered up and down State St. , had my very first In and Out burger(Awesomeness) walked down to the pier overlooking the Pacific Ocean and had a fantastic dinner , and then headed back to State street and caught a Mavs game at the Santa Barbara Brewing Company. :-)
The next morning we were up bright and early to drive out to the wine country! Let me mention that it was a beautiful sunny day.
But not before having a fantastic breakfast at a place called Alphie’s.
He booked us a room at the Days In near the highway, the place they stayed in the movie Sideways, and then off we were to our various wine tastings. About 5 to be exact. We spent the day hopping from place to place and finished up at the Wandering Dog wine bar having our last tasting paired with cheese and crackers YUM! Fun and wine on a beautiful sunny California Day.
Sunday we drove back down the beautiful Pacific Coast highway, covered with amazing yellow wildflowers to a little town called Las Angeles and had breakfast in Hollywood! We spent what little time we had left cruising around Beverly Hills.
And then back we came to Austin. Great Great amazing weekend! Hooray for sunny days in California. :-)
“We love because it’s the only true adventure.”

My amazing boyfriend Surprised me with tickets to the Weepies!
Saturday night I received a phone call from him asking me to dinner; but Stating that he was very hungry so I needed to kinda hurry. I headed over to his place to pick him up. And from there he told me that he was going to drive since he had Kinda made dinner reservations and It was a bit of a surprise. So we drove. As we drove I of course tried to play the where are we going game in my head. I was stumped. When we neared the part of town where the weepies were playing I remember and was suddenly sidetracked. We parked and began walking. I proceeded into my ten part story of how I had been trying to get tickets to the show but all my hard work was unrewarded. They were sold out and not one craigslist person had responded to my inquiries. Oh how sad I was that i was going to miss the show. ;-(
As we were passing the venue he suggested that I run up and ask the door guy if they had any tickets that they might have reserved for the door. I climbed the stairs a bit reluctantly but thought what could it hurt? He waited at the bottom of the stairs while I asked. After receiving my expected answer i walked back down the stairs to tell him. He said he was sorry…i passed him on the stairs and heard him say “Well then i guess we will just have to use these tickets” I couldn’t believe it. He had a pair of Weepies tickets in his hand. I was practically in tears. The show was wonderful.
I have myself a really great guy i must say. ;-)
The band I absolutely love is playing in Austin this saturday. My naive self figured, since they are not super popular, that I didn’t have to buy tickets right away. :-( And now to my dismay they are Sold Out! That’s right. Sold Out. I will not be seeing my favorite little band this time through Austin and the last time they were here was in 2006. ;-( I am ridiculously bummed.
